artoberVA 2025 Recap
Celebrating 10 Years of Arts & Culture in RVA and the Tri-Cities
2025 marked a milestone—the 10th annual celebration of artoberVA—and we celebrated bigger than ever. For a decade, artoberVA has brought together artists, organizations, and communities to showcase the rich creativity that makes our region thrive.
Whether you’re discovering a new gallery, catching a live performance, or raising a glass with friends at a community event, artoberVA is your invitation to celebrate, connect, and create.

pay-what-you-will
Back for its second year, the series featured a collection of 100+ Pay-What-You-Will experiences. This initiative empowered patrons to contribute to admission at a price point within their means, fostering accessibility & inclusivity.
FWD: RVA
Through performances, conversations, and special events, FWD:RVA created space to engage with the work shaping the city — not just to celebrate it, but to explore where it’s going, who’s behind it, and what’s possible next.
artoberfest
CultureWorks hosted our 4th annual Artoberfest celebration at the Petersburg Harbor. This was a free event designed to bring together neighbors and community members for a day of artistic expression and festivities.
artoberva summit
CultureWorks presented the first artoberVA Arts and Culture Summit: a gathering of artists, creatives, and arts and culture administrators, leaders, and professionals to network, learn, connect, and collaborate.
Pay-What-You-Will Events
A highlight of this year's theme was the curation of "Pay-What-You-Will" (PWYW) events. This initiative empowered patrons to contribute to admission at a price point within their means, fostering accessibility and inclusivity.

artoberVA Headed North!
ArtsFairfax invited you to “fall into the arts” with artoberVA, the inaugural month-long celebration of local arts in Fairfax!
“Our motto at ArtsFairfax is to ‘stay curious & stay local’ to experience the arts, and artoberVA is the perfect way for the culturally curious among us to discover their new favorite artists and arts organizations while investing in their local community,” said Stuart Holt, President & CEO of ArtsFairfax. “We are honored to bring artoberVA to Northern Virginia to highlight the hundreds of arts nonprofits in Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax, and the City of Falls Church.”
