CultureWorks Celebrates 10 Years of artoberVA This October
This fall, CultureWorks is proud to present the tenth anniversary of artoberVA, the region’s monthlong celebration of arts and culture across Richmond and the Tri-Cities. What began as a grassroots initiative has grown into one of the area’s most anticipated cultural traditions, connecting communities, elevating the arts, and spotlighting the creative spirit that makes our region thrive.
Throughout October, artoberVA invites residents and visitors alike to explore and engage with the arts in exciting and accessible ways. Whether it's catching a live performance, visiting a local museum, or trying a new art class, there’s truly something for everyone.
Highlights of this year’s artoberVA include:
The return of the Pay-What-You-Will Event Series, now bigger than ever, with more participating venues and experiences that remove financial barriers and welcome all audiences.
Surprise collaborations with local businesses that bring creativity into unexpected places—from signature drinks to art-inspired shopping experiences. (More details coming soon!)
Artoberfest in Petersburg on October 18 (rain date October 25), featuring live art, music, vendors, and family-friendly fun in the heart of downtown.
Style Weekly’s “FWDRVA” series, a weeklong collaboration that connects the Fall Arts Preview to pop-up events and public conversations exploring the future of Richmond’s cultural community.
Community programming at Lincoln Mews, a Better Housing Coalition neighborhood, bringing meaningful arts experiences directly to families where they live.
The artoberVA Arts + Culture Summit, a new convening focused on professional development, networking, and capacity building for artists and organizations working in the region.
“This milestone year is a chance to reflect on how far artoberVA has come while looking ahead to an even more vibrant and connected arts ecosystem,” said President Scott Garka. “We’re thrilled to continue creating spaces where art can be experienced, celebrated, and shared by everyone.”
