artoberVA 2021 Recap
The famous saying, “All good things must come to an end” certainly strikes a chord now that we are at the end of artoberVA 2021.
However, we are beyond grateful for the new memories of connecting with each other through arts and culture throughout the Region again! Being surrounded by friends, family, and even strangers to witness the beauty the arts provides our community uplifts our spirits and reminds us of how vital it is to keep arts and culture alive during uncertainty.
As we look back on the month of October, we can wholeheartedly say that arts and culture continues to live on in Richmond and the Tri-Cities! Folks came out to the Robinson Theater’s Fall Festival this past Friday despite the cold and rainy weather. We saw parents with their kids enjoying live music from Pay Rent Brass Band, watching Stavna Ballet’s performance, competing in the costume contests, and going from table to table for candy.

Our friends down in Petersburg this past weekend also indulged in spooky celebrations! The Dia De Los Muertos festival showcased traditional Mexican artifacts, food, cultural costumes and dances.

As artoberVA ends, we encourage you to keep the same excited, curious, and creative energy around arts and culture for the entire year. Continue to support your local artists, musicians, and performers. Spend a weekend at a local museum with a loved one, create a work of art, or discover a new musical talent. Whichever medium you choose, remember that with your support, participation, and appreciation, arts and culture will continue to thrive in our community.
A reminder to check out our Arts and Culture Calendar to continue digging in beyond artoberVA!.
