Kaleidoscope - A Celebration of Color is an immersive art exhibition celebrating the power of color. This showcase invites viewers to explore vibrant palettes and dynamic compositions that evoke emotion and spark creativity. Experience a visual journey that transforms perception and invites reflection, revealing the profound beauty of color in our lives.
We invite artists of any age or skill level to submit their work for consideration for this community exhibition. Kaleidoscope - A Celebration of Color will be on display at the Perkinson Center during the summer of 2025 (June through early August).
Funds collected from submissions will go right back into supporting the mission of the Perkinson Center and its programmatic offerings.

vendors wanted for poe museum unhappy hours
Since 2008, the Poe Museum's UnHappy Hour has been a beloved Richmond event, hosted monthly from April-October in the museum's Enchanted Garden.
A “miserable time from six to nine,” these evenings include live music, local food, and libations abound. They also feature appearances from local artists, small businesses, non-profit organizations, and more! Last year, the museum hosted over a thousand guests across its Unhappy Hour season...and we expect to bring in even more this year!
The Poe Museum can provide one table per vendor and chairs as needed.
RPAA HIRING DIGITAL ARTS MANAGER & NONPROFIT FINANCE INTERN
RPAA seeks candidates who are passionate about uplifting the arts in their community in the following roles:
The Digital Arts Manager's primary roles are to produce digital content, teach video production techniques, and maintain the Digital Arts Lab. They are responsible for all aspects of maintaining digital video equipment, teaching video production courses, and organizing the archive of all produced digital media. This position pays $50,000 a year and includes an employee benefits package.
The Nonprofit Finance Intern will assist the Director of Finance & Administration with basic accounting and bookkeeping functions of the organization's Finance Department. This is a temporary summer position that pays $15/hour at 30 hours a week. The internship will run from June 9 - August 2. Applications will be accepted through April 30.

Call for Musicians — riffs & recoveries one-year anniversary event
Calling all sober musicians! We are looking for musical acts dedicated to sobriety to fill three dates in July for the Riffs & Recovery 1 Year Anniversary Event! While this event is showcasing artists who on recovery journeys, Riffs and Recovery takes a harm reduction approach and invites anyone sober or sober curious to apply.
The event will take place at Gallery 5 Arts. Submissions will be open until April 21st at 5 PM.
We are looking for the following dates/talent:
7/4: First Friday Opening
This is a free show! Running earlier from 5-10 pm. We are looking for a select number of short acts for our opening show, including spoken word, poetry, dance numbers, monologues, and other small solo performances.
7/11: Riffs 1 Year Birthday Bash
Ticketed event! Happening 7-11 pm. 4 select bands/groups for our 1-year birthday show. This will be a mixed-genre show.
7/24: Closeout Spectacular
Ticketed event! Happening 7-11 pm. 4 select bands/groups for our end-of-month celebration show. This will be a mixed-genre show.

Riffs and Recovery is currently taking submissions for "In Bloom", a visual art exhibition opening at Gallery 5 on Friday, July 4th 2025.
“In Bloom” is a visual art exhibition that celebrates growth, renewal, and transformation through the lens of sobriety to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Riffs and Recovery. This exhibition will feature work by artists who have experienced their own journeys in sobriety, showcasing the beauty, challenges, and victories of recovery. Anyone on a path of sobriety is welcome to submit their work for consideration in the exhibition. Feel free to be submit as many pieces as you’d like. If your art is chosen, only one will be displayed.
Deadline to submit works is May 26th at 5 PM.

Virginia Humanities’ 2025 - 2026 Folklife Apprenticeship Application Now Open
The Virginia Folklife Program invites people who are experienced in a cultural tradition to consider teaching another community member through the Folklife Apprenticeship Program. We provide funding for an individual who is considered a master of a tradition to train an apprentice of their choosing. Projects in music, dance, crafts, community storytelling, cultural reclamation, traditional healing, agriculture, food-ways, and specialty trades are all welcome.

Richmond Night Market is seeking vendors for its 2025 season!
Vendor Fee: $200 (Per Date/Market)
Your vendor fee includes: (1) A tent, (2) a 6ft table, (3) 2 chairs and an (4) invitation to participate in our monthly marketing call designed to support all participants in preparation for the event.
General Information: Space is limited. The market will be curated to have a balanced representation of artists and vendors.
Approval Process: Once your application has been reviewed we will notify you if it has been approved. Once approved you will be asked to confirm your acceptance with the payment of your $200 vendor fee.

Virginia Center for the Creative Arts Spring 2026 Mt. San Angelo Residency Application Open
The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) provides time and space for national and international writers, visual artists, and composers of talent and promise to bring forth their finest works, because the arts are vital, diversity is a strength, and creativity is essential.
Selected artists come to VCCA’s Mt. San Angelo in Amherst, Virginia or the Moulin à Nef in Auvillar, France for intense periods of creative work, free from the distractions of day-to-day life. During residencies lasting anywhere from a week to two months, VCCA Fellows enjoy private studios, private bedrooms, and meals. Whether sequestered in the rolling foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains or on the banks of the Garonne River in Southwest France, VCCA Fellows can work in concentrated solitude, then re-energize in the company of other artists.
VCCA Fellows are selected by peer review on the basis of professional achievement or promise of achievement in their respective fields. Panelists for each discipline and genre undergo periodic review and rotate regularly to ensure that VCCA admission decisions are guided by high caliber artists who represent a diversity of styles and tastes.

Immersive Residency with Conflux Dance Theater
During the first two weeks of June, we're inviting 6 talented dancers, intermediate/advanced, ages 16 and up, to step into the studio with our professional company, learning new repertoire from extraordinary artists Yusha Sorzano, Mike Tyus, and Luca Francesco Renzi.
Dancers will have a unique opportunity to join the professional artists of Conflux Dance Theater in the beautiful studios at West End Academy of Dance. Rehearsal days will involve warm-up/class opportunities, expanding individual artistry and real time experience, and learning new works from and forging lasting connections with top-notch guest artists.
Each week of participation is just $400* per dancer—a small investment for an extraordinary experience of up to 50hrs/wk of studio time.
*Food and housing are separate - information on possible lodging will be provided upon acceptance.

The William R. McKenney Building was an important residence in Petersburg, VA’s history and served as the city’s main public library for nearly a century. Since opening a modern new city library in 2014, however, the McKenney Building has stood vacant. In 2020, business and civic leaders formed the McKenney Foundation, a new nonprofit, to evaluate the feasibility of repurposing the McKenney Building. The Executive Director will be the public face of the project and responsible for overseeing the administration, fundraising, programs, and executing a strategic vision and plan, as well as preparing the organization to undertake a major capital campaign to build the Cultural Center and Archive.
The ED must be capable of building relationships with key partners, inspiring their trust as well as that of donors and board members. He or she must know how to hire and retain talented staff and build consensus, while honoring, including and respecting opposing viewpoints and have a strong understanding of African American history and culture. Other duties include marketing, community outreach, and participating, and in some cases guiding the renovation of the building decisions. This position reports directly to The McKenney Foundation Board of Directors.
COMPENSATION: $90,000-$115,000, annual base hiring salary range, commensurate with experience
