The 2020-2021 cycle for the CultureWorks Grant Program is now open! Applications are due on February 27, 2020 by 11:59 p.m. The CultureWorks Annual Grants Program supports smaller 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, with limited resources and operating budgets less than $500,000, as well as funding for local artists.

Virginia Voice’s Live Audio Description Program

Virginia Voice believes losing one’s eyesight should not be a barrier to accessing the performing arts or other cultural opportunities in the Richmond Region. This belief aligns perfectly with CultureWorks’ Cultural Equity focus area, and their Live Audio Description Program was awarded a $10,000 grant in 2017 to pilot the Program, and a $5,000 grant to fully launch the program in 2018.

Alexis Courtney & Emily Wicks of Hand / Thrown

For Alexis Courtney and Emily Wicks a $2,000 Building Capabilities grant, through the 2018 cycle, was integral to establishing their new shared studio space - Hand /Thrown - by providing funding specifically for a kiln and associated materials.

2019 Grant Cycle - NOW OPEN!The CultureWorks Annual Grants Program supports smaller 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, with limited resources and operating budgets less than $500,000, as well as funding for local artists. With few sources of support available in the Richmond and Tri-Cities region dedicated to helping these segments, the Grants Program is able to fulfill this need and invest in quality programs and initiatives for our community.
