Second Street Gallery Accepting Exhibition Submissions

Teeny Tiny Trifecta 8: September 5-26, 2025
Deadline to apply: Monday, July 7, 2025 at 11:59PM EST

Second Street Gallery is currently accepting submissions for our Season 52 Juried Exhibition and Fundraiser, Teeny Tiny Trifecta 8, to be held in the Main Gallery from September 5–26, 2025. Please review the exhibition application requirements HERE and take particular note of the new size requirements: 8 x 8 inches (or round works with a diameter of 8 inches).

Interested applicants must submit the following for a complete application:

  • A Google Form application HERE, which includes submission of an artist statement and three images of artworks you intend to exhibit.

  • An application fee HERE. Fees range from $10 for members of Second Street Gallery / $20 fee for non-members.

 
 

PAAL Seeking Artists for “Shake it Up”Exhibit

Submission dates: May 7th, 2025- July 23rd, 2025

Artists shake up the way people see and experience the world. Whether it’s showing us sublime beauty in the midst of so much else, or tearing things apart that we thought to be permanent. Generally speaking, artists disrupt convention.

The Petersburg Area Art League is calling on artists to submit works of art that “shake things up”. Feel free to challenge our perspectives and interpret this theme as you see fit.

All art media (painting, drawing, 3-D works, textiles, video, mixed media, etc.) are welcome, as our gallery space and accommodations will allow.

Call for Submissions — Iridian Gallery

The Iridian Gallery at Diversity Richmond is now accepting proposals for work in all mediums for our 2026 exhibition calendar. As the only LGBTQ gallery in the South and one of the few in the nation, we strive to serve the queer community and amplify the voices of its artists. While preference will be given to LGBTQ+ artists, work by allies that speak to the experiences of our community will also be considered.

NORFOLK ARTS — PUBLIC ART OPPORTUNITy

Norfolk Arts is commissioning a public art project at both the Fusion at Neon apartments in Norfolk, Virginia.

The Art Selection Committee is seeking public artwork that marks the transition from a historic, tree-lined neighborhood into the vibrant urban environment of the NEON District, while also inviting and signifying the entrance to the Fusion apartment complex. This site lies at the intersection of the traditional, refined atmosphere of a museum and the raw, eclectic energy of NEON. We invite artists to create a bold, unexpected installation that challenges conventional outdoor sculpture formats

CALL FOR SCULPTURE ARTIST IN FAIRFAX COUNTY

ArtsFairfax, in partnership with the Mount Vernon District Office, Fairfax County, seeks an artist or artist team to design, fabricate, and install a permanent sculpture at the Lorton Police Station and Animal Shelter that will signal the site’s offering of hospitality, safety, and community engagement. This location offers visibility and a unique opportunity to create impactful public art that will represent a point of pride at a high traffic Fairfax County facility.

The selected artwork should:

  • Welcome visitors to the police station and animal shelter

  • Serve as a local landmark for community gathering and engagement

  • Reflect the values of the Lorton Community

VA250 Grant Application Currently OPEN

Virginia Humanities has teamed up with VA250 - American Revolution 250 Commission to provide grants that will fund content development, exhibit design, and other humanities-related programs to localities.

Projects should be focused on the American Revolution. Applicants may apply for up to $10,000, and a 1:1 match is required.

Call for ART SUBMISSIONS — riffs & recoveries one-year anniversary event

Riffs and Recovery is currently taking submissions for "In Bloom", a visual art exhibition opening at Gallery 5 on Friday, July 4th 2025.

“In Bloom” is a visual art exhibition that celebrates growth, renewal, and transformation through the lens of sobriety to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Riffs and Recovery. This exhibition will feature work by artists who have experienced their own journeys in sobriety, showcasing the beauty, challenges, and victories of recovery. Anyone on a path of sobriety is welcome to submit their work for consideration in the exhibition. Feel free to be submit as many pieces as you’d like. If your art is chosen, only one will be displayed.

Deadline to submit works is May 26th at 5 PM.

Richmond Night Market is seeking vendors for its 2025 season!

Vendor Fee: $200 (Per Date/Market)

Your vendor fee includes: (1) A tent, (2) a 6ft table, (3) 2 chairs and an (4) invitation to participate in our monthly marketing call designed to support all participants in preparation for the event.

General Information: Space is limited. The market will be curated to have a balanced representation of artists and vendors.

Approval Process: Once your application has been reviewed we will notify you if it has been approved. Once approved you will be asked to confirm your acceptance with the payment of your $200 vendor fee.

Discover the Touring Artist Roster and Teaching Artist Roster today! If you’re a high-quality artist eager to share your craft with audiences and learners across Virginia, the Artist Roster could be the perfect opportunity for you. Virginia-based artists are invited to apply.

Applications will be available in the VCA's online grant system starting April 1. The deadline for submission is June 15, 2025, by 5:00 p.m. EST.
